Temp gauge on A/B Farmall

Any ideas on putting a temp gauge on either of these tractors. I thought abou one between the radiator and block bur there?s not enough room on top or bottom. Has anyone drilled and tapped the top return bracket, if so any pictures of placement?

My BA has a temp gauge it goes in the lower radiator hose area. One many there is a place for it or a pipe plug in place of it. Takes a gauge made for it

I believe that "back in the day" of thermo-siphon cooling systems, the I-H engineering department didn't want the operator to know how hot their engine was getting so the operator would worry about them. Things were designed to dissipate the heat that was generated and the operator wasn't supposed to worry about it! That's why there is no provision for a heat gauge on these 113 cubic inch (& smaller) thermo-siphon engines (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

NICE theory, but not factual.

Kerosene versions of those engines had a temp gauge, and it apparently was an option on gasoline versions.

I grew up around a gasoline original "B" with a temp gauge.
