I reseal the hand primer on each Ambac pump in for repair. There are two O rings, the top one should seal the primer knob when the bail thumb screw is tight. The inner one is what usually leaks when using the primer. Long as there's no leak with the thumb screw tight it's OK to run. If you like I can send you an exchange resealed primer assembly.
