hand pump on rear of injector pump 1440 or 1066

Our hand pump is seeping/ leaking when using it to
bleed out the filters.
Is there an O-ring that seals the rod to the housing
that could be replaced?

Dealer wants to put in a new/ rebuilt pump for $$$$$.

I reseal the hand primer on each Ambac pump in for repair. There are two O rings, the top one should seal the primer knob when the bail thumb screw is tight. The inner one is what usually leaks when using the primer. Long as there's no leak with the thumb screw tight it's OK to run. If you like I can send you an exchange resealed primer assembly. Takes a 15/16 wrench to remove it. Contact info [email protected] if you have any questions.

Thanks for the info.
It doesn't leak when wing nut is tight, so
will let it go until warmer temps.
We're into winter here [Iowa] for the next
couple of weeks the way the forecast sounds.

Happy to have our crops in.

Dieseltech rebuilt the pump on one of my tractors - he knows his stuff. The one he rebuilt did that for years and now is just fine. If he has a fix I?d go with it.
