Look what I found

I bought this baler at a auction seems to be in good shape,it is the first 37 that I have seen with the engine on it. Are they rare? I usually use and work on NH balers but have been wanting a IH and the 37 is just right, people say they have troubles with the knotters on IH balers and I have been wanting to get one to work on them and find out why they dont tie as good,so this is going to be a good learning experience. The engine is factory the little cylinder wisconsin, where can I find parts for these balers looks like messicks has a few but the closest IH dealer is about 100 miles from me and they say they dont have any parts left for these balers. Thanks for looking

I hate to threw water in your face but Wisconsin engine company is out of business, as far as i know, is it stuck? If you do need parts as far as i know your going to have to get some new out of stock,if you need a baler, and if your handy you might want to put a Super C or a H engine on it. It looks complete!

The engine ain't stuck I can get it going got several on new holland bakers I was glad to find it because they are hard to find down here especially with engine

Well i think you will like the baler, had NH also, sounds like you'r in the driver seat then, you got all winter to play with it, i never seen a IHC with a motor on it either,a good friend they had a NH with the same Wisconsin engine, it got the job done!

You certainly don’t need to bend over to work on the engine. If you don’t use it for baling it would make a neat attraction at a threshing show.

I am not sure if they were rare, have a 47 with the Wisconsin and pulled one off of a 46 when I fixed it up, I went back to a PTO. Do you have the old style knotter or the newer AllTwine knitters? Still make 4-500 bales around the house every year using one of them behind the SMTA.

Neighbor we traded help with had an IH 55T baler with the 113 cid engine off the A,B,C model tractors, not short on HP like the 60 cid Cub engine on the 50T balers, Dad did custom baling with a new 50T when he got home from the Army after WW 2 for 4-5 years.

Neighbor parked the 55-T and bought a used pto #37. Not near the capacity or the huge bales the 55 made, but Dad and I baled 20 acres of 2nd cutting alfalfa in an easy afternoon. Had to rake smaller windrows to run the baler with the Super H. Was a nice load running in 2nd gear.

I hope it's easy to convert that baler from engine to pto power. Trying to keep an engine long out of production from a company long out of business can be problems.

I remember jy father having, I think it was a # 52 IHC baler with an IHC U 2 engine. As I remember the fpy wheel was on the side, BUT THAT WAS 1965 when I last saw it and I was 12, a lot of water under the bridge so to speak.
Have fun take your time.

Be Careful with that ol belt. Dad had 2 of the old IHC 56 Wire balers on PTO and one night the belt on one of them started coming apart and it whipped the crap out of the back of the tractor. Hired man turned tractor to keep from getting hit with the belt it was flopping a section of
