Hello Everyone,

Dale here I have a 52 Wd9 I haven?t had it running in a couple of years. I installed a new battery turns over fine but won?t fire. I took the carburetor apart was very clean and checked distributor and seems to have 12 volts eveywhere. It still turns over won?t fire at all. I am seeing if anyone has ideas to look at I appreciate them all

Checked the distributor??? You need to check spark at the center wire of the distributor cap and at the plug wires and make sure you have a good blue/white spark that jumps a 1/4 inch gap or more. One cannot just look at a distributor and know it is good and that the points etc. are good or need to be cleaned

"12 volts everywhere in the distributor" sure doesn't sound good. Do as old said and let us know what you find.

Is the decompression working? Is the distributor getting turned when switched to gas. Check for spark like a gas engine.Have you tried to pull it started? Is there gas to the carburetor etc.

When you pull the de-compression lever, make sure that the butterfly in the intake manifold is opening to the carburetor. If this butterfly stays closed, it will never start on gas. The butterfly is spring loaded and may not open if tractor was set to the diesel side for a long time. You and flip it open with a screw driver if the de-compression lever hardware is not moving it. Had this happen on my 650-D and took me awhile to figure out why it wouldn't run on gas. Al
