McCormick 33 loader, been looking for replacement cylinders. Original are 42in long. Found some 36in that would go on nice, but certainly i would loose lift height, no big deal with planned use. But in your opinions would it go down all the way? Sorry if some of you are shaking your heads, i convince myself back and forth. Lol. I repacked a snowplow cylinder once thats my only experience with cylinders thanks.

If the current loader can be moved it would be easy to let it down until the cylinder attachment points were the same as the minimum of the one your replacing it with. I'm sure someone on here could tell you exactly. The reduced lift height may not be a problem for you but it will probably prevent the loader from going all the way to the ground.

The shorter cylinder will retract to a shorter overall length than the original. This will cause the cylinder rod, when the loader on flat concrete and all the way down, to be extended quite a bit. There should be an ability for the loader to dig deeper than level when needed, but not that much. The amount of rod sticking out should probably be about 3/4". This would allow the bucket to be lower than "flat" on the ground. You will need to weld additional bracketing material to either the top "arm" end, or the base mount end to limit the lift lost by the shorter cylinder. Or locate the top mount point closer to straight up to have the same lift, but less power in the lift. Jim

Like said will not affect the bottom end work just limit your dump height for lifting over things. As for the below level that is not a problem it will still work fine for ground work might even like it for some digging where you want to be below level like for digging out for a cement pad. To get it started.
