Super MTA Question

Found a Super MTA gas in a shed. Been there for years but has been started periodically. It's definately
in it's working clothes. It has good tires. Runs good. Original owner says TA is good. Sheet metal is
good. It has a home made 3 point. The bad is it's had a W9 front axle fitted under it.
I don't know much about the Farmalls and was wondering a close value for it. Other than the front end
it's a fairly decent looking tractor. Faded paint but it's been shedded most of it's life. Any thoughts?
Thanks a lot in advance for any help. Bob

I have to see a picture of this. Looking at my W9 and Super M I can't envision this.

Far as value, I wouldn't subtract much for the W9 axle, though it is handy as bargaining leverage. Finding a good front for the M should be relatively easy. However, folks usually have the front tires/rims to swap over. The W9 are 18s, the M are 16s.

Years ago I 'blacksmithed'/'farmerneered' a WD9 front to an M. it was a loader tractor. The heavy front really supported the big loader, but was a real bearcat to steer.

well intoday's market a S/MTA with a non stuck engine and good metal should be worth 3500 in any bodys money , Running add a grand more , working T/A add 500 , fenders add 200 , junky 3 point deduct 100 . Some thirty years back i had a buddy give 2850 for one in KIT FORM with some or should i say ALL ASSEMBLY required , we will not go into the total ASSEMBLY amount once setting on all four and running . And i will never tell what i gave for mine in running conduction less no brakes and one head light out .

If nothing was cut on the tractor to fit the axle then it should not affect the value much. Figure a few hundred to put a NFE/wheels on it. In my part of the country probably worth 3,000 dollars with good tires and the TA is as advertised.

Yep, if the TA does not check out then closer to 2500 dollars. I expect that nice gas Super MTA's will be 2500-3000 dollars in the next ten years as the 1950's fade further into memory
