Farmall 560 tel a depth valve

Recently the steel hydraulic lines running from the tel a depth valve to under the seat have started to leak. Due to the fact that I really don't use the fast hitch and the extremely high cost to replace the steel lines I have decided to delete them. My question is if I un bolt the lines from the top of the tel a depth valve can I plug the holes in the valve with standard type pipe plugs? Also what position should the input lever be in? up or down? Thanks

No, because as soon as the hitch moves or the handle is moved, the system will go on demand, but be dead-headed causing all sorts of problems.

If you're going to remove the lines and not replace them, then at least remove the valve also.

Yes, but if all the linkage is removed there is no chance of the
hydraulics being activated, correct?

Blocking off the tel-a-depth valve is NOT a good idea as that LINKAGE is what keeps the valve centered . when the lines running back to the lift cylinder start to leak due to rust one can braze them up or i f have several times cut out the bad and brazed in a high pressure 1/2 inch pipe coupler on both ends and replaced the steel with a rubber hyd line . So just fix it .
