Hello I was wondering if someone could identify the seat on the tractor I picked up yesterday, seams comfortable but not sure if it is aftermarket or farmer fabbed together. Thanks

Knoedler. Yes it is aftermarket on your F20. Don't remember the part number for the shock but it is available from NAPA, you will need to shorten the studs. Cockshutt used Knoedler's for their deluxe seat, the bearings are still (or at least were 10 years ago) from Agco.

Try posting down in the Oliver/Cockshutt page. Someone there will likely have the info needed if you are looking for parts.

Big ji is right and they were built for the Farmall M and H. The seat was also after market because most of them used the pan seat.

Thanks to the both of you, first one of these seats that I have came across. Sits well, mice and rust in the cylinders so probably not going for a ride any time soon. Thanks again, Mike

Have to disagree on the "sits well" comment. We had one of those on a Farmall "H" at Farmamerica and it "sat terribly". It was discarded and replaced with a correct factory seat.

The extreme rear sloped backrest is a "killer" if you try to lean that far back.

I don't anythng about the tractor but how about that IH R truck in the background in one of the pictures? Looks like a great old truck. Any history on it?

The truck is a 1957 VF190. Was originally a tractor, has a 549 V8 and a cable shifted 10 spd. Eastern Wa truck all its life, only about 40 miles from where it started. Have had it running but needs a carb rebuild.
