'61 B414 gas, BC144 engine- which valve train kit?

I'm having a valve job done on my 1961 B414 gas tractor. The engine says "BC144 3722".

The machine shop says I need valves, valve guides, springs, keepers, rotator caps. So- the trick is finding the right kit. Yesterdays tractor has a "2 spring" kit that looks close, but it says that it is for the BD144 engine. And my service manual says that 2 spring is for the diesel engines.

So- any advice on this?

Wow in looking up parts for a bc144, all are big $$$. Must because the B414 is a British tractor and they made mostly diesels.

This may be your best bet:
A rebuilt cylinder head

As just the parts are $1000

Is yours a gas or diesel? By the serial number i would say gas (BC=British carbuerated, BD=British Diesel) if thats the case i would go by the BC144 kit, as long as there aren't any serial number breaks.

As I stated, it is a gas tractor. And yes, a BC144 valve train kit is what I need- but they are made of unobtanium.

You don't mention seats. I assume a good engine machine shop may want to install seats, even if the head never had them. Given that you need everything, seems like the shop should be able to find parts that would work.

The head came from the factory with hardened exhaust seats.
I have identified a source for some used parts that may be good enough.
