Super C temp.

I don't think I have a problem, I am just curious if others see the same thing. On my Super C with a new thermostat, I see temps reading in the green range in the summer and in the fall doing the same work the temp only reads half way up the cold mark. The way I understand the cooling flow, I dont think there is a thermostat bypass on this, so it surprises me it doesn't open the thermostat.

Do you guys notice the same thing?

I don't think I've ever seen the old letter series tractors operate in the green area unless working with an implement. None of mine do unless I'm plowing or brush hogging or something that requires it to
really work.

Sounds normal. Those old tractors were made to work HARD on HOT day.Hence a big effiecent cooling system. Just 'poopin' around the yard/paradeing wont even get it 'warm'.Put it in the field for a couple of hours on a hot day. Pull the snot out of it. Then it will get to 'operateing' temp.

This makes sense to me on the tractors that have a bypass in the cooling system. I just am surprised on the Super C, that the thermostat apparently never opens and so therefore the block is never getting any cool water out of the radiator? Or am I missing something?

You need to be under a hard load on a hot day to get the temp guage to move much. Take a reading of the coolant with a thermometer for an accurate read
