Good morning! What is the recommended maintenance for this? Mine has no grease zerk, however seems to be a bit of grease there. Do you just replace the socket every 5000 hours??? I have the tractor split and it seems like a good time to address this simple part, but I don’t know how it’s supposed to be from the factory. Thanks for your time!

If you are having issues check the axle for wear on the center bushing. If the axle bushing is loose it adds a lot of strain to the stay ball and yolk. We also drilled the casting above the ball and put a grease fitting in there to grease it. Old one was worn out . Bought tractor used so no telling how many hours or use. The axle was bent with a dent in the top so might have been aprt of the problem. Been changed since with no trouble.

They were not 'greaseable'. If you want, drill a hole in the cap and install a zerk.My 706 has 13,000 hrs,1256 ,probably 20,000,1456 9000. the balls/caps are original. they wear forever.
