Full tank or not?

Have a Super C I don't plow snow with and only use in the summer. Should the gas tank be drained or kept full during winter? And if full what type of guy? Thanks

When my tractors get parked in the shed for winter, they get parked with whatever gas is in them. Anywhere from almost full to almost empty.I add primrose stabilizer and they start and run in the spring like they were just run a few days ago.

I try to park mine with a full tank of non-ethanol premium,if not available use unleaded with sea-foam additive,I've always parked with a full tank just like my Harley's to minimize the exposed bare metal to any possibility of rust.Have never had a rusty tank on bike or tractor.May be over kill but it works for me.

When I park tractor in the shed I park them with what ever gas is in them which is not very much most of the time. I have found empty or close to empty works the best for me. I have very few fuel problem doing that and have been doing that for the last 30 plus years

I drain the tank and run the engine till the carb is dry.I have an M that is only run 30 days a year. With that method I never have problems. Just pour in fresh gas,put in a battery and it starts immediately.

Whatever is in it, shut off the valve on the sediment jar and let it run out and don't worry about it. I run E10 with a little diesel in it, quart to 5 gallons.

I fill the tank. If I have the money its premum, if not, 87. The tank rusting thru is the worst problem that I could have that would take extra measures to solve. Fuel gum is just a labor process to remove it if it gets bad.

I like to keep a few tanks full for an emergency fuel supply if needed. I use premium or non-ethanol with a stabilizer. Just don't leave them parked next to the road. It makes them prone to nighttime evaporation.

I would suggest emptying the tank and running the engine dry because of the short shelf life of fuel but if you do leave the gas in the tank, add a splash of mixed fuel to it to prevent tank rust. I put a splash of mixed fuel in all my metal tanks and none of them have any rust at all

When storing for only months, I drain tank but not carb or sediment bowl. Helps to keep gaskets and what not from drying out and leaking next time. Use the gas in something else. I just syphon out what I can get with a rubber hose. no additives or stabilizers needed this way.

I leave 91 Octane non-ethanol with Sta-bil in the tanks for about 4 months every winter without issue. I shut the sediment bowl valve and let the engines run until they die.

It's not a one-size-fits-all thing.

I also park my tractors with whatever gas is in them, sometimes it's 10% ethanol, sometimes non-ethanol, sometimes it's got Stabil in it, sometimes I forget... They all start and run the next time I go to use them, and there's no rust in any of the tanks.

My building doesn't get a lot of condensation inside during temperature changes. Don't know if it has to do with the kind of ground its on, because it doesn't have a vapor barrier under the gravel floor, because it has adequate airflow, or lack of airflow, or what... But that might factor into your decision.
