I'm in the middle of replacing my ta's clutch/pressure plate. I have the blue ribbon manual for the ta - so going by that... they say the top of the fingers should be 3 3/8 high - that's with the clutch unit all bolted together.
Mine's at about 3 1/2 right now. I'm about to adjust it down, but it seems like a lot as it'll bring the high point of the fingers almost even with the adjusting nuts... maybe that's normal... but I get nervous with old manuals, not knowing if they're covering my year of tractor...
And the adjustment nuts on the fingers have paint applied on one side, making me think I shouldn't have to be messing with them.... Like they were pre-set at the right height.
I searched and found a video on youtube where the guy was measuring after installed, between the fingers and the release bearing - but I'm not finding that particular spec in my manual.
Am I over-thinking this?
Anybody done this before?
