F20 starter drive removal

Hi, is the only way to remove the starter drive assembly off an F 20 is to pull the crankshaft pulley? Or is there a trick to getting it out?

I removed the crank engagement mechanism (if that?s the same piece you are asking about). It is bolted to the radiator with four studs. I think you can slide it back and remove it without removing the radiator.

Are you talking about a Heisler Electric starter or a Hand crank mechanism?
If Heisler, yes you have to pull the flywheel to remove the "Housing".

Yes the manual crank. Seems to need more room to slip out without the pulley coming off or the motor pushed back...
