New battery tractor started well tractor has set for couple months went start today pulled starter switch nothing half turn with hand crank running starter switch new year ago thinking corroded contacts in switch what can I put on contacts after polishing to prevent ground connection from battery cleaned when battery changed any other suggestions if not switch starter rebuilt a year ago

Check and clean both ends of both battery cables. Connections must be clean and tight. If cables or clamps look corroded replace them. Tractor end of the ground cable should go to a bolt on the main frame as close to starter as possible, not through rusty battery boxes and sheet metal.
