Discovery on my M today

My M has been acting weird lately. It will just stop for no reason but up until today has started right back up. Today I shut it off for lunch and it wouldn't start when I got back. I quick pull the plug in
the carb and had lots of gas. I went back to the shop and got a volt meter and started checking around.Only a couple of volts to the distributor so I'm thinking the resistor has gone bad. When I check there
was no voltage to it either so I went back to the switch. 12 volts in, nothing coming out. Its just a push/pull switch and was replaced a few years ago when one of the connectors rusted off. I starting playing
with the switch and suddenly got voltage. Turns out if you turn the switch there are dead spots in it. I happened to find a spot that would work. I didn't think those things could do that. Next time I order
some parts I guess I will have to buy one.

I first spray a healthy dose of PB Blaster all around the shafts and entry ports, and the push-pull areas. It removes corrosion, lubes, removes moisture, etc. Does wonders for all my electrical items. Me, I'd try PB first.

My loader M started that, wouldn't start, i just rotated it and it discharged, and back to life. But that switch had lasted about 15 years !!
