Tachometers

I need a new tach for my 560. I was ready to pay $100 for one, then checked ebay and see them anywhere from $22 to $150 and beyond.

I'm I being silly spending more than $22 on one? Are they all the same tach? They look it from the pictures.

I don't mind spending more for a better product, but I do mind spending five times as much for the same product.

Anybody have any experience with these?

I bought a cheap one from India for a 350 I was cleaning up and it doesn't fit the hole in the "dash." gm

They sell them on this site or Bates at Bourbon,Indiana. I got mine for the 450 from Bates and paid $150.00 but that was 5 years ago.

I got one off ebay several years ago in the $30 range for my 300 and it has worked good so far. Cheap is not always good, but I decided to try a cheap one first before spending the big bucks. I still have my old one and would send it in to get it fixed if this one fails.

went to a parts store 4/5 years ago to buy one for my ford. I looked at it wrote he numbers down, noticed it wasnt made in he usa. was around 150 bucks. I went home checked ebay and the same one, same number was 46.75 shipped. I have bought 6/7 for various tractors since then off ebay. only one that worked but not 100 percent correct. all others worked fine. I was told back then by people on here that all gauges for tractors were made over seas. just my experience
