I have a need to know what a loaded tire would weigh off a 460 Farmall. I think it's a 12.4 x 38. thanks, gregjo1948

Here is a ballast table.

I'd estimate 600# each by the time the tire and wheel are considered.

Thanks for the reply. I'd like to move a 460 Farmall with, a wide front end, and loaded rear tires, & chains, on my trailer with a 7000 lb rated hitch. I'm thinking it may be a bit too much.

The unballasted tricycle 460 tested at Nebraska weighed just over 5800 lbs so your wide front would
be right around 6000 lbs. Your tires are most likely 13.6-38's and depending on how full they are
you could be looking at upwards of 1000 lbs of fluid. This would put your total weight in the 7000
lbs ballpark.

Right, and the trailer weighs close to 2000lbs in and of itself. So, 9000lbs on a 7000lb rated trailer... Probably not a good idea. I won't say it hasn't been done, but it's not good for the trailer.

Never ever go by SHIPPING weights as shipping weights are DRY weights and can get you in trouble fast . also a wide ft does not weigh 200 lbs best aqdd some to that as i have never been able to lift one of them by hand by myself . And if your going to play the game of oh lets haul a tractor then ya need to things , One is a Horse that is more then a half ton and a trailer that will haul the load . Never go by the GVW of a trailer and think OH it says 14000 or what ever and i can load seven ton on it and it will be fine NOPE that's not how it works ya sub tract the weight of the trailer from the gross and that is the Max ya can put on it next is the GCVW of the Mule or truck By Mfg spec.'s that is the combined weight of the truck trailer and LOAD . Then ya have to figure out the best hitch set up is best for what your doing . I had one bumper pull in my life time and once was enough and never again . Goose neck is the only way to go for handling and best safety on the road for handling . I have dragged a goose neck for real close to a half million miles and are they perfect NO but the handle way better . Brakes are the big thing here never bet you life or someone else s life on electric brakes They give no warning of when they just stop working due to a broken wire a short a magnet failure trailer plug falling out . Securing the load , i see guys usen ratchet straps and i cringe i see improper chaining all the time .Here again i speak with many years of experience of hauling STUFF from a garden tractor on up to loads well over 250000 lbs . I have had chains break i have had loads shift .

No need to preach to me. I've got my CDL and have hauled box trailer, flatbed, lowboy, over height, over width, over weight, and hazmat. I think I know what I'm doing. That is why started this post asking weight of a potential load. As far as racket straps are concerned, strapped items can be bound as good as chain and binder. How many people are out there using chain without DOT rating or towing a vehicle behind a huge motorhome with the same license as a soccer mom drives her kids?

According to Tractor Data .com your 460 could weight as much as 8900 so there you go might need a 12,00 trailer to do the job.

I saw that also and figured that much weight probably includes some attachments. I guess I'll have to use my gooseneck that I've hauled 7 tons on a few times. thanks for your reply, gregjo1948
