frustrated at 460 diesel

So, ran a couple weeks ago.... then parked it for a day, then no start. Replaced cracked fuel line to lift pump, primed injectors then it started.

Parked for another day. Blew voltage regulator by accident. Replaced regulator=no start. Found multiple wire issues and electrical shorts. Re-wired it yesterday.

Now it turns over, but only runs briefly, and very rough.

Reprimed everything to no avail.

So, how hard should fuel pump out of the fuel lines when priming the injectors? Seems very week flow.

Also, how do I diagnose if this is a fuel pump issue or possibly injector related? Super frustrated...

See if it will start and run with the two screw timing cover loose on the pump side. If it will run while the fuel leaks out, then injection pump needs repair, and the return line elbow on the tank bottom may need cleaned too. When the pump housing pressure gets too high the plungers can't move during the charging cycle so the engine can't start or run.

Thank you so much...Unfortunatly it starts and runs about the same. Super rough with a ton of smoke....

(quoted from post at 15:00:59 10/02/18) Could your return fuel line be plugged?

I get full flow when I pull the return line off the lift pump. Flow from the fuel tank that is....And if I leave it off and turn the motor pumps a good bit of fuel out of the lift pump..... What I don't know is how much fuel should be pumping out when turning the starter when trying to prime the injectors. I don't get a lot of fuel pumping out of the lines. It's more of a slow dribble.
