806 refuses to start

My 1963 806 has always pretty reliably started- injectors could stand to be rebuilt, so you gotta crank it a
while, and in cold weather, a whiff of ether will do it.

Well, the tractor sat unused for about 2 months and I tried to start it. It cranks fine and I get white vapor out
of the stack, but I can't get it to fire. Even when I tap the ether.

It has plenty of fuel - about 1/4 tank. I guess one possibility is water in the tank from condensation. Should I
open up the fuel filters and look for water in there?

Easy stuff first. Yes,change the fuel filters, then bleed the system. If you think water has gotten in,bleed some fuel off the bottom of the tank.

In addition, the batteries must be at full charge. Cranking speed is critical and even 10% can reduce starting to white smoke. Jim

I don't use mine to much either anymore, but if i do i plug in the tank heater, starts just like it's been running.

i bet your starting fluid can is empty. give it a shot manually.you have diesel going into the cylinders if its smoking.

Find helper. While cranking tap pump with screwdriver handle. Hold blade and make believe you are cracking an egg. Might even work and free.
