Distributor mount removal c301 /c263

Working on a c301 ,/ c263 and need to remove the distributor mount, the replacement engine doesn"t have the tachometer drive built in the distributor mount I need to swap it from the old engine, it looks like its just pressed in? I don"t see anything holding it in place, link shows the part I need to remove number 7

Yes, it's a press fit.

Have you ever removed one? tight press? a little heat around it, tap it up and out?

Light press. Just tap it out from the bottom. But you need to look again. All I have ever seen the tach drive is in the neck of the distributor.

I've only done one, about 41 years ago, when we replaced a 503 combine engine block with a factory "skeleton engine". Seems to me it came with instructions, but I can't remember the exact details.
