This is not really directed at Delta directly but a couple general questions or statements. Wouldn?t it be far less of a hassle to just put the 400 engine in the M? Okay I am not that familiar with the diesels but here are a couple of roadblocks I see for him. I believe the lower radiator hose connects on different sides between the gas and diesel. A muffler shop could probably bend a pipe to fix this but likely one side or the other would have to be outside the frame rail. Secondly isn?t a diesel block longer than a gas? Not sure why I care. Less hassle? No, not really. The halves will bolt right together as if they were made for each other.

That way, the radiator and everything comes along with the front half of the 400, so there's nothing to bodge up, nothing to adapt, nothing to change. Well, maybe the clutch disk, if the 400 uses a different sized input shaft than the M, but I don't think so.

Frankly I think Delta is overthinking things. He should even be able to use the M grille and hood.
