Trivia ? on A

When did the implement mounting holes is the final drive housing change from 5/8 thru holes to 3/4 threaded? Trying to hang the Woods mower back under the A, Woods says 3/4 bolts but this tractor has the 5/8 holes. I guess I will make a shim to go in holes on bracket. Thanks, George

In general terms, the 3/4" threaded holes appeared with the Super A. I think that there are exceptions, that is, I wouldn't be shocked to learn that some of the first Supers still had the 5/8" hole. I have a Super AV in my possession that has the 5/8" holes and the one piece brake bands. Of course, it could be that at some time during it's life, both final drives were replaced with straight A final drive castings. Lots of words to say, I don't know with certainty.
