wheel bearings

I am replacing the wheel bearings on my M. I am fairly sure I will be able to get the bearings, but what about the seal at the back of the wheel where it fits against the spindle and what about the sheet metal seals that keep the grease around the bearings? When I remove the races I will probably ruin these. Does anyone know of a location to purchase these? Thanks, Ellis

yer friendly case/ih dealer can fix you up,at least I got mine from them.

I also just recently got mine from Case IH for the bearings and races as well. Be careful to avoid damaging the flat piece of metal in the back that fits snug against the spindle while getting the races out it is a ?grease keeper? and holds the grease in the bearing. I damaged mine and I also had to get them from case

Sorry I re read your message after I posted I would go ahead and order those grease keepers like you said cause it seemed almost impossible not to damage them

I work there part time in the shop.I am a retired truck mechanic. They are actually a thriving business, open 6 days a week. Sometimes it looks slow, and going into the store is like stepping back in time almost.I have not not seen any boats parked around there-except for one back in the shop corner. Lol. They are also a large farming operation, and there is usually a lot of their own tractors and equipment setting on the lot. They now sell Bushhog brand equipment. They are an old ih dealer,as well as a Southern States dealer, and still have a ton of parts, especially old '40s and '50s stuff,as well as parts for newer ('80s & '90s)models.
If you are looking for parts, call Greg-best time in the morning 606 756 3905. Mark.

(quoted from post at 07:04:14 09/25/18) You can get bearings, race, seals from napa for a third of the cost ofvgoing to ih dealer.

Jim would you happen to know of a regular seal or have a regular seal number that would work? My bearing guy couldn't find anything going of the measurements. I know I can order online but would prefer to get it locally.

You can take the IH part number and go to kakapart and it will give you part numbers that may substitute for what you have. I did that with the seals in my A's steering housing and rear end.
