Super A PTO Lever

I took my 1948 Super A apart this afternoon and found out the reason my PTO lever won't engage or disengage (see picture) The stud has worn down to the point it won't go in the groove. I need one of these, prefer NOS or a good used one, i went on the IH dealer parts page but could not find the part anywhere in the parts catalog. If anyone has a NOS or a good used one please respond. Does anyone have the part number on this piece? I was going to check the parts depot and see if they have one left over.

You have to look in "attachments" in the "Super A" catalog at the on-line parts site.

Part # is 53517DA.

Why not just accurately drill it out from the backside and weld in a new pin?

Only way that pin is like that is because someone held the lever in gear to keep the PTO working because the "JAWS" on the sliding tube are worn from yrs of wear. Look at the shaft in the tranny where that tube slides into when pto is in gear. If that slot is worn too much the tube will not stay hooked when under power.Take a file to the area on the tube and "SHARPEN" those two jaws making the slot with some neg angle so it has a better bite on the trannys slot. I should have some good used ones. Send an email and I can give you my phone # and explain the process better if you like. [email protected]
