Farmall H belly pump seal

Guys I'm trying to replace the seal on the input shaft, I cannot get the coupling off to allow this seal to be removed. I've tried to use a chisel and drive it off, tried to punch the shaft out of the center with the pump disassembled. Even tried to see if it was threaded on. I wouldn't care so much but it's a pretty constant drip even when not running.

With the pump apart you can insert a brass rod inside to jam the gears and unscrew the fitting. Its left hand thread.

I thought they were both left hand. If not they would unscrew when turning. Maybe I'm mixing my hands. They unscrew the opposite of a normal bolt.

On the pump side it's a normal right hand thread. Got it apart, seal replaced, all bolted back together and even got the control linkage put in this time. Lol

Thanks everyone, thing was tight. Had to punch it loose.

Just did the belly pump, input shaft, and belly pump drive shaft seals on my M. Your H is very similar. NOTHING is reverse thread in the couplings... I made a video trying to detail as much as I could about the process... (LINK BELOW). My recommendation is while you have the pump out is to do your input shaft seal and belly pump drive shaft seal. The pump is awkward and heavy, so be sure to have it steady as you lower it out. Also, if you pull the front end up on some ramps to get the oil away from the front trans seals (after dropping out the belly pump).. You won't have to drain any fluid from the trans. Hope this helps.

I welded a piece of square onto an old 1/2" socket an use my impact wrench . Spins them right loose.
