Darald and 660

I have been away from it for a few days, but the next thing to check is the starter rotation, if I can I will check it tomorrow, and let you know. I am heading back to the starter repair place on Monday anyhow.

That sure would be unique if it IS turning the engine backwards.

Making the starter motor run backwards can happen/has been done, but for it to be turning the ENGINE backwards it needs to have had a starter drive/bendix for a reverse-rotation starter starter installed as well!

Not familiar with the 660 setup. A combine starter usually lays beside the engine, nosecone rearward. Put that starter in a clutch housing, nosecone forward it turns the engine backwards

Here is a link to the original post. 2lateforme suggested that a friend of his had experienced some how an install of a combine starter which mounts on the engine side of the separation plate. Thus starter and drive turn the opposite direction of the aft mounted bell housing or torque tube mounted tractor type starter.

Here we go, she turns backwards. Now should I change the polarity of the tractor and re do the regulator to make it a positive ground, or just call it a day and return to the starter shop...
