K-Mo is correct, the adjustment bracket for the generator goes on the top bolt of the water inlet elbow. The top bolt of the water inlet elbow should have threads past the head of the bolt - and the bracket goes on it, with a lock washer and a nut.

Put the one end on the generator and 'eyeball' the thing. you can figure it out. Most likely will use a 3/8 bolt,but not necessarily. Could be a head bolt or something else.Or,maybe the one you have is the wrong one....
