I need to get a small crack around an oil plug hole welded. The crack is in the welding block, does anyone have any tips?

Thanks

Take a die grinder and "V" the crack out a bit. Then use 1/8" nickle rod to weld it.

Dave: Just a thought, seems like you said you cracked the block with an easy out. If the crack is not to long can you drill it out and use a larger pipe plug say like 3/4- 1"? if you can, don't tighten it too tight use pipe dope or teflon tape an just snug it. Lots of luck, Geo.

Hi Dave, If your planing on someone else welding the block, ask around to see who has experience (years not one or two blocks). If your welding the block yourself, then search the Tool forum for welding cast iron as I have posted several replies on welding cast iron.

If you need help with a specific question thats not covered already then e-mail me and I'll respond.
