Is there anybody out there that knows or has a way to tell what the year of manufacture would be on a 282 diesel engine with a serial number of UD282 M with 9861 stamped below it. I'm working on the 560 and just saw the stamping and now it's got me curious. Pretty sure the engine's not original since the red on it appears to beĀ covering a factory yellow and the red on the rest of the tractor isn't.

All i know is UD, means utility diesel, chances are it was used on a air compressor, or generator or something, you will have to wait and check with Diesel Tech,or somebody when they check back in!
