I forget how many years I’ve dreamed of getting my F-12 out on the open road for a tractor cruise but this past Saturday it finally happened. We couldn’t has asked for more gorgeous weather. I heard there was around 130 drivers and most were able to complete the 60 mile round trip.
I won’t go into many details about the tractor but it handled every hill with the best of them and was more than capable keeping up. There was some doubt when talking with some of the guys when I told them how fast it was but it quickly proved them otherwise when they saw I could cruise down the highway at 15 MPH! third party image

Factory ‘K’ code transmission that’ll run 6.8 MPH in 3rd gear. I’m running over factory rated RPM so it’ll run right around 8 MPH. Heisler aux gear box has a 2:1 gear ratio pushing it up to 15-16 MPH. Thats with 11x36 rears. I hope to get 11x40s and be able to run 17-18.
The motor isn’t exactly stock either.

What in the world did you do to it to get it to go 15MPH?

The tractor is loaded with F-14 upgrades. Had the full ‘conversion’ done to it before my grandfather purchased the tractor back in the 50s. I’m still calling it an F-12 based off what’s originally known to me as grandpas tractor which includes the matching serial number plate and engine block making it a 1937 F-12. It has everything that makes an F-14 what it is on this tractor. Most were part of the conversion kit. Some I added.

Never seen an F-12 going over a walking pace. Gotta be a thrill.

But..... with the inclined steering wheel, and plastic wheel..... ..isn't that an F-14 ?

None at all. Steering is very tight.
I’m getting to where I enjoy it more than my H going down the highway. Steers very easy and something about the way my body is positioned in the seat it’s more comfortable too

That's a really solid looking old tractor. Did you have any steering wobble at those speeds?
