450 Live Hyd pump leak

My 450 has developed a leak at the hydraulic pump. It looks like the oil is coming out around the split to the front of the pump as it sits on the tractor, and is also coming out around the bolt heads. Would the gasket that seals the pump halves be leaking, or is something else going on. Is this something that is repairable, or do I replace the pump? Finally, is there someone that rebuilds these pumps? Thanks, Jeff

There is a number on the flange of the pump

Take that number in and they should be able to

Get seals and gaskets

I guess I need to check farther. My local CIH dealer said they couldn't get any pump parts or even a pump

Split for pump body to mounting flange has a big O ring. Probably can get one at a hydraulic repair shop or supply. Pump mounting flange to engine plate is a gasket. If it leaks there it could be engine oil or very little hydraulic oil because if the front pump shaft seal leaks it gets with engine oil and ends up in pan.

You can put new saels and orings in them. But they are not 'rebuildable'.if the rotor/gears and pump housing is worn, repacement is needed.

Where is a good place to get the gasket where the pump splits?

Today's Featured Article - Product Review: Electronic Ignition - by Staff. Oil, for example has come a long way in the last 50 years and I don't use anything but the latest API grade available. I've heard the arguments for non-detergent oils but would never trade it for today's formulations. Paint is another, the modern acrylic enamels are great for resistance to grease and fuel stains, retaining their shine and they last forever; unlike enamels and lacquers . Still another is the alternator. No doubt using the original generator keeps the tractor pure, but for thos ... [Read Article]
