RECENTLY OUR 51 M,s VOLT METER SHOWS DICHARGE WHEN RUNNING IN THE FIELD (WITHOUT THE LIGHTS ON) IT USED TO SHOW CHARGE. NOW THE BATTERY GETS HOT AT THE (+) TERMINAL & RUNS DOWN NOW & IS NOT ABLE TO START THE TRACTOR AGAIN.THANKS...GARY

Sounds like a bad battery (shorted cell) to me too. Swap in a known good battery and see what happens.

Sounds like it's time to go to the battery store for a new one. You have to turn one in so take it with you and have them test it, I beleave it will have a internal short in one cell.
