What is a Super A - 1?

I think the Super A 1 was made in late 1954 before the 100. It had, I think the 123 cid engine like the 100 and later tractors had.The super A, I believe was a 113 engine.

It looks like the decals definitely say 1, not I. The industrial has a square front axle with braces running back to the torque tube, and a foot throttle, of which the shown tractor has none. Guy Fay's book, and TractorData.com both list a Super A 1, made in 1954, though I can not find a listing for a Super A I. According to both of them the serial number should start with SA 1. both do show it having a 123 cu in. engine rather than the 113 of the SA.

I had a 1954 Super A-1 at one time. The Serial No. was FAA-1, 357278. Engine No. 206819
It had the 123 cu.in. engine.
There was no A-1 on the model decal.

The Super A-1 was made for a short time in 1954 before the introduction of the 100. Basically it is the same tractor as a 100, except with Super C sheet metal on it.

Yes, I said Super C, because the A-1 has the 2" taller radiator of a Super C, along with the C-123 engine with water pump of a Super C.

A distinct feature of the Super A-1 is the 2" gap between the bottom of the fuel tank and the top of the hydraulic block. Same as a Super C would have.

I think the decals originally did say "Super A-1" on them, but nobody made correct replacement decals until recently. Most of these tractors got repaints and new decals within the first few years, so the original decals would have gotten obliterated.

Looking at some of of the photos it looks like it could be a high clear model. which if it is could be a very rare tractor so it could be worth a lot of money

Here are some pics of a 1954 Super A-1 that I?ve been working on. I?ve had it and used for quite some time but never did get around to cleaning it up.
