Hello, I'm new here. I have a farmall m with factory wide front. My question Is is there supposed to be a bushing where the tie rod connects to the plate on the steering bolster? Thanks even if you can't help.

There are several Wf that will fit an M.But I don't recall ever seeing a 'bushing' in the place you describe.Maybe a picture,or more info will help us help you

Sorry I can't post a picture as I recently joined. Could I email you a picture? Sorry I'm new to tractors and this fourm.

This might be of help?

I will assume that the tierods are the style with the clevis ends, and attach with a pin through a hole. Due to age and normal wear and tear over the course of 60 to 80 years, those pins will be worn, and the holes are probably egg shaped. New pins will take care of part of the sloppiness, but the holes may need to be drilled out and some sort of bushing installed. Bushings can be made from whatever.

Here's a attemp to upload a picture.

No 'bushing'. What you see is normal wear from almost 70 years of use. These days, they all look like that. If it bothers you, take it to a machine shop and have them bore and build up and sleeve it all. and spend a large amount of money.
