Wind is about 40 mph here or more....the ground that went north last week is going back south this week! I have been in the shop assembling my W-30; on the F-4 mag there is a "cap" on the back; tear-drop shape...that retards the timing. The small hole on the side of it was partially broke when I purchased it- broke another piece today installing the rod. Hope some one will tell me that I can change that cap out? And find one? Thanks.

Points cover/breaker housing cover. Sort of a fragile pot metal casting. Easily replaceable. If you've removed it to clean the points, all that's left is to pull a cotter pin and swap it. Rotate the flat retainer out of the way to pull it; a couple little tabs index it to the points housing.

Looks like Rice Equipment has them. I need to replace mine on the F12, lots of wear at that hole.

When I picked up my F12 and then F20, it was quite a learning curve with those mags. Both were hard starting. One had a bad coil and the other had corrosion in the coil lead out. They start easy now.

Just swing the hold down arm CW. That is all there is holding it on.
