Guess Im in no hurry for these but would like to start looking; where would I begin to look for "curtains" for the side of the hood on my 1937 IH McCormick-Deering W30 ? Thanks to the guys that helped me today on here with my engine parts- I called them and they had my parts!! But they told me the curtains would be a task! Thanks.

i guess it would be a task, as the hood is not even designed for side curtains.
unless u got a special tractor there that had them. and curious as to why you want side curtains on a tractor that came with none, .. just wondering.
tha 22-36 was the last tractor to have them and the hood was designed for them.

That's fine....guess it doesn't matter....just thought it would cover half or more of the engine and hide the wires- plugs, etc.... But I am "sure" my hood is made for them; the bottom edge of the "hood, on each side. has a "curled under" lip to hang another piece from it; if it were not so the bottom edge of the hood would be straight. Just my thoughts but you guys are the experts. Thanks .

McCormick Deering tractors with side curtains had full length piano hinges, If when new the tractor was special ordered with curtains it would have had a corresponding hood with the other half of the hinge. Not trying to pee in your cheerios... but the curl in your hood is there to stiffen the edge. This is a picture of my 25 10-20 which is missing its curtains, you can see the other half of the hinge clearly on the hood.

You may have a orchard W-30. There's a picture of one in 150 years of IH, but not a very good shot of the side panels. All you need is some 18 ga. and a sheet metal shop that can make louvers. They could also roll that bead you need to hook them on the hood.

No Problem- just wanting to learn about these things- that's why im on here- thank you for your help !

Hey thanks- that's a good idea... but IF it is NOT suppose to have them Im good with that - I just thought it looked like it "may have had them" at one time. Thanks guys!

I can try - im not good at it. Im thinking the guys here are right - just made this way...but no panels. I still think it would look more attractive- I think its kinda "ugly" showing the sides of the motor- just me.

W-30's could be ordered with a butterfly hood and sidesheets just like on a 10-20. Its in the parts book for verification.......

I-30's pretty much came standard with hood sheet and they are the same hood as a 10-20. I know this because ive swapped them and they match......
