farmall 230 serial number

I have a farmall 230 tractor serial number # 10165 , can anyone tell me what the numbers mean or what year it is ? Thanks, ive seen other numbers , but i dont know where my number fits in the sequence

May want to check tractor out for originality or proper ID. If # 10165 is on the ID plate that may be a F-200 serial number.

Not sure what you mean by "fits in the sequence" but in the literal sense, it fits in between serial numbers 10164 and 10166...

If you go to the home page of this site, on the left hand side is a column of handy links, including one called "Serial Numbers." You go in there, select your brand, select your model, and that will give you a chart listing the first serial number produced for each year that the tractor was manufactured.

In the case of the 230, that chart is this:
Year Starting Serial Number
1956 501
1957 815
1958 6827

10165 comes after 6827, and there is no starting serial number for 1959, because the 230 model was discontinued in 1958. So, your tractor was built in 1958.

Could be a problem with that if 230 serial numbers didn't go up to 10165.

rann84 230 tractor serial numbers didn't go that high is why I suspect you may have a 200 number if the tractor looks like a 200 or 230. If a 200 it was built in month 11-1955.
