Going from biggest to smallest, found a lowboy today, fellow asking $1500 firm price. Comes with a Woods belly mower, runs fairly good with straight metal, tires are very good and I'm tempted to buy it. How about it fellers should I take the plunge. Oh by the way, my son wants it too (4H project) - good excuse huh.

Got it, broke the news that another redhead is moving in and bosslady gave me the usual stare, did in front of another couple, talk about perfect timing. The posting on the board last week worked to my advantage, and I know all of you dedicated gease eaters read it.

Now lowboy questions will be coming up very soon, I' gonna treat this like a small M and take the same path I did on it. Any strange things to look for? Serial# was 3049 any ideas what year or do I need to get more info on this?

That serial number for an offset Cub LoBoy is from 1956. Go to www.atis.net and follow the FAQ link to the Cub FAQs. That will probably answer several of your upcoming questions.

My Dad bought a early LoBoy last Fall. Nice little tractor. Had the 42" Woods mower & live Hyd. too. I think He paid around $1500 or a little more too. I bought a 982 Cub Cadet about the same time and I SURE PAID A WHOLE LOT MORE FOR IT than $1500. Go For IT! Good Luck!

If it is the way you describe it I am wondering why you don't have it home already? LOL! No, really that is a good price. Is it a 154 or a 184? Both very good, but the 184 probably being worth a little more. I would say go for it. Let us know what you do. Bill {Antique Acres}
