What are the pros and cons of a 544 diesel also price range of a good clean one, how long did they build these engines?

That D-239 engine was made from about 1972 until about 1997. The best.

They started making the 544 in 1968 so is this still the same engine?

 The 1968 544's had the D 239 also. I have one. Good engine ---They need to be run, just idling around on lite work they tin to soup up some. JG

Hi, if it has a German D-239 engine they were made until the late 1990s. Very good engine, used in many applications, industrial, swathers and 74/84/95 and 4210 series tractor. JimB
