I want to put a wide front end on my M. I located one off of a 560. I was wondering if I could put it on my M without doing much too it? Also, how much would the wide front end be worth? It is complete, but it doesn't have any tires and rims.

I would have the rear mount to put the 560 front on your M

Daniel,
Yes it will fit, BUT you will have to make 4 spacers to mount it under the bolster, seems like they are about 1 1/2" long made mine out of bar stock 1 3/4"dia. and drilled a hole in the center on a lathe but you could use flat metal also. mine is a factory w.f. don't know about a schwartz I used wheels off an old Allis Chalmers #60 combine the bolt pattern on those front ends is pretty common, seems like my J.D. wheels will fit also Good Luck George

Daniel: Everything will fit except the rear saddle which is higher than what will fit on the M. The reason is that the 560 has extensions about an inch or maybe a little longer where the axle bracket attaches to the front bolster and the M & 400's are almost flat. If it's a Schwartz wide front end the rear saddles are readily available for about $60. You will need hubs from a 560 to fit it also as the bearing sizes are different. I paid $450 for mine but had to replace the king pin bushings and front swivel bushing to get it as tight as I like it.

I ain't sure if the wide front that I found is a schwartz or not. I believe it is though. It has the hubs. It just doesn't have any rims and tires. Would rims off of a 240 fit it?
