I have a friend that just purchased a 1940 A that has a newer Super A block with no serial number stamped.

I suspect the original block was broken and the a new one was purchased from the dealer (lack of serial number). You never know what could have happened to these tractors in their life times!

What does it measure at the 0-ring area thats the answer. What did the old sleeves measure in that area. Different bores will fit that block also

"W" is 1951. Sounds like you have the later block. In any case, you need to check the part number cast in the block.
