Happy Father's Day out there in YT world !

Well, I drew the short straw and got struck working today, but I called my dad early, (before he left for church) and wished him a happy father's day.

I'm fairly new on here and don't know anyone personally, but I want to wish everyone a Happy Father's Day!

So after church and a good meal please take the family, go out and crank your favorite piece of red iron, hook it up to a trailer (or a manure spreader!!!) and take the family for a spin!

Or turn some dirt for me... :)

Thanks,

Ernest

Thank you and happy back to all. I fixed the neighbors tomatoes and peppers (he planted them in wood chip mulch. Jim

happy fathers day to all yall...and jim what do u mean fixed the tomatoes an peppers ...cause i did the same ,old wood pile peppers not good, tomatoes are good, just curious.....dewy

The transplanted vegies were mostly in the wood chip mulch (which provided neither moisture or nourishment) I just scraped away the wood and put good soil over the base of where they were originally sprouted (from the garden store) Then I watered them. Jim

when my girls were little i spent their first 16 father's day at ft. hood cause i was in the national guard. now that i'm retired and my girls are grown father's day has a different meaning. today, me and my youngest, now 21, are spending the day together in the garden picking pinto beans, corn, tomatoes, squash, and eating raw purple hull peas. yesterday she and I put 24 pts of whole corn. my daughter is funny, she doesn't like to do house work, but she been tight there this entire spring helping me in the garden and now in the kitchen helping me do the canning..... what a kid. guess i'm just lucky to be home with here and not in some far off country getting my a@# shot off.

I picked green beans, (top crop), pulled a few onions and peppers last night, then weeded and watered my garden. I started with 40 tomato plants, thanks to the rains only have 7 left. Planted twice.

Bass, you are absolutely correct, but its not luck, you are blessed! Its nice to talk to another Texan on here! I'm in Wichita county; used to hunt type 2 land in Anderson county, along the Neches river between Rusk and Palestine. Shot my first buck there! I've also rode that train the state owns down there; its a fun day if its cool.

Thanks for your service,
Ernest
