All you Farmall Guys,
I have a Farmall 300 with a standard pan seat. I really enjoy going on tractor cruises, but my lower back will no longer tolerate it.
I would like to try installing a modern seat, like a K&M on it, so my back would have some cushion from the bouncing. I really don't know if it can be done or how to go about it. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bill

Make a base and get the real firm foam 6in or so thick it works great but you got to use the good firm stuff an upholstory shop would be a good place to go. See more and more of that type on rides. Love the one on my B with back rest.

Seems pretty simple to me. The old seat suspension is held on to the battery box by four bolts. Remove that and you have a nice flat platform to install pretty much any seat your heart desires.

The only limitation is the amount of suspension you can have under the seat.
A full air ride setup would probably be too high setting on top of the battery box, which means you would need to remove the battery box and relocate the battery.

A mechanical suspension for an IH tractor might be a little high by an inch or two.

I have a 300 with a pan seat with a backrest, I think it was the seat that came on the 460 and 560 farmall. To me it seems comfortable.

Old Weldor,
How does it mount?
Could you just unbolt the old seat pan and bolt the new one on?

Well it sure should be available, K @ M, products are made or distributed there out of western Minnesota, they make tool boxes, etc, But if i was you i would get a clot seat, their will be less sweating rather then plastic.

It would be hard to put an air ride set on a 300 because it has a battery under seat.
