I just recently bought a Super M and it had power steering on it but the pump is missing.Could I take the unit off the steering shaft and add a piece to the shaft and just have manual steering or would it be better to find a steering shaft somewhere?Have some of you done this to yours?I would like to get a pump but I am going to pull it and do not need the extra load on the engine.P.S.this is by far the smoothest running tractor I've ever owned.I had an Allis WD that I thought was smooth but the old M has got it beat. Thanks Jack(TN).

If you were close i'd give the shaft and put it in and tune your tractor for the P/S.TOP that.

OK Vet, I will give him my narrow front end for his wide front and make sure that the tires are fully inflated.

If I were you, I would go to a salvage yard and get the steering shaft with worm gear on it. It's pretty easy to change. That is certainly going to be cheaper than buying a pump for the power steering.
