W-9 and I9 ring gear and pinion

Can someone tell me the difference, if any, between the W-9 and the I-9 ring gear and pinions.I thank you for any information.

I think the I-9 is geared lower. Years ago my neighbor bought a I9 for farm use he pulled a 4 bottom plow. I can not recall all the details but he ended up getting a rearend out of a W9 and installing it. Was OK then

Most industrials had smaller tires and they put a different ring and pinion in to compensate. Was hoping maybe they did on these and I might be able to swap them out for more speed.

This was back in the early 60's and he bought the I9 from where he worked after he got it home and found out how it was he got a junk W9 from the local IH dealer and swapped out the read ends and then it was just like a regular W9. If I remember right it was a WD9 I know it was cause I used to disc with it for him sometimes during planting season
