I don't think a person ever gets over it. I believe we just learn how to live with it. Just keep think of all the good times and lessons learn from your dad. Today I feel very grateful that I had dad and mom both around till I was 58. My brothers and I all yell out (thank you dad)at times when working on something and realize dad showed us how do this. I still say my four lines today as I still have days too and just writing this brings tears. But I'm Smiling. ????

I'm sorry to hear your news. We will pray for you and your family. I lost my dad July 6 2011. It is tuff. With in 6 months, lost my wife and four other friends too and thought the world was ending, but god got me to today. I came up with these four line to help me. I said them to my self hundreds of times a day.
Chin up

Move forward

Do not dwell on the past. (meaning negative things)

Smile.

JL I believe in the list of 4 to do' s it is just amazing how hard it is to do at times. My head gets heavy and my face sad, but I will get better, the prayers and my friends have meant so much .

Be his continuance on earth. Lessons learned and the qualities he shared with all are the best tribute. Jim

You are not weak and selfish, who ever put such an idea in your head? You can still have my prayers, though. Losing your dad can be a terrible thing. You can look up "dad" in the dictionary, but they won't even come close to a full definition. Your dad was a lot of things to you over the course of the years, you only get one, and he cannot be replaced. God bless.

You have my deepest condolences. I understand completely. Lost Mom in Jan of 2015 and Dad in Sept 2015 (Yes both this year). Been a rough year but as others have stated God will get you through this just as He has seen and continues to see me through it.

Miss them both.

My Dad passed away 10 yrs ago. and I still miss him too. There are a lot of questions that I have for him,but to late.I do have a picture of him right here by my PC and look at him every morning. Helps some. Mother passed away a year and a month before Dad did { I sure miss her too}. He always said after that, "I will be happy when I will be laying next to Mom again". I am sure that they are both happy now. Sorry for you lose. It seems as if the world should stop turning, but it doesnt. Life goes on. Been there.

that's a rough one.... unfortunately, as mine used to say " It's all a part of living".
When the family gathers, share the familiar stories, if you take the time you look carefully around the room, you may begin to notice certain mannerisms, the way someone moves their hands when they talk, tilt their head etc. You will then begin realize his spirit carries on in each of you. Do not dwell on his passing, celebrate all he brought to each of the many lives he touched the short time he was with you.

Today's Featured Article - Allis Chalmers ED40 - by Anthony West. Allis Chalmers as a tractor manufacturer in its own riht is but a memory. However the number of AC tractors still in existence today as either restored or unrestored examples is a testament to the quality of their products. This in itself is always apparent here in the U.K when attempting a purchase, as no matter what the model or condition the price will always be strong. ... [Read Article]
