I'm in the market for a 2wd loader tractor that can fill in on my claas rc46 round baler and John Deere 920moco if need be. Cab would be nice, but trying to keep the cost down. Will mostly be used as a utility tractor and haul round bales. I know the 51xx and 52xx series have a very good reputation. Was there much for improvements between the two series, or just decal updates? I'm guessing a 5120 or 5220 will be what I'll end up with. They'll handle the mentioned implements alright won't they? Believe they're around 80pto hp.

that's a little high for a pump, stealership list one for only $8383.00 found 2 more for $2500.00 and less, good pump shop would most likely beat either of those prices, that was the pump assy.only not with a control valve included

Be very careful about buying a Maxxum with more than 7000 hours. The hydraulic pumps start to fail after 7K and the only place to buy a new one is from CNH at a cost of $12000 plus! Motors are Cummins 5.9, very good motor. Transmissions are average, make sure the parking brake works, costly to fix. Again at 7k plus hours there are bearings in the rear transmission that start to fail. Again costly to repair. The transmission controller is no longer available, when it fails you have to ship it to a place in Canada to have it rebuilt, a several week turn around. I had one back in the day, always had electrical and transmission controller gremlins. Even back then some parts were being discontinued. To sum it up I don't miss the tractor.

I know of a few different one's in my area, and all the owners talk them up. One did say they've had to replace a couple external solenoids on one of theirs, but said it wasn't a big deal. Was that a typo? 12k for a hydraulic pump?
