SC Touch Control reservoir lubrication

SC sitting for several months & oil from Touch Control reservoir dripped out through Fast-Hitch cylinder. I drained remainder of oil from the TC reservoir. Removed screen. After 58 years it was clean as a whistle when I took it out. Cleaned it anyway. Now, cannot find proper oil to refill reservoir. No one here has ever heard of IH Hy-Tran, let alone IH Touch-Control Fluid which the manual states should only be used. Will have to admit I've never heard of the latter fluid or used any of it. There is no local source for either lubrication. The question is, will a good quality hydraulic oil be O. K. to use in the Touch Control system? It will require about one gallon to refill the reservoir. I buy 5-gallon cans of "303" hydraulic oil, from Orchelin, all the time & use it in the gear transmission of all my other tractors. If "303" is not suitable, what lubrication would be acceptable?

It depends on whether you borrow implements or not and whether you have an auxiliary control valve.

If contamination is not an issue, you could run any reputable hydraulic fluid, or even plain 30 weight motor oil.

Touch Control oil was replaced by HyTran. Use any hydraulic oil that lists the oil as compatible with Hytran. 303 is ok if it lists Hytran.

Before touch control or Hytran was sold IH requested 10 weight motor oil in the hydraulics. H/M was supposed to be use 30 weight.

Heck, I thought it would be a little more particular than that, since the IH manual didn't even want Hy-Tran installed. I guess then I'll just fill her up with 10-weight engine oil.
