I would like to add a foot control throttle on a 931 cat? Any one have any ideals what I can do, to add a foot throttle??

Why do you want a foot throttle? You could get them with an optional hand throttle on the transmission shifter. How are you going to steer with a foot throttle? You need both feet for the steering pedals.

I have the throttle on the same lever as the shifter, I just want the foot throttle to slows the machine down. MY mf 300 has a foot throttle, it works great for me because I only have a right arm, so I can't grade and slow the machine down at the same time like I can the MF. I was a heavy equipment operator out of Operating Engineers until 03. I ran a lot of dozers, and loaders with the depress throttle.

You'd have to make a bunch of linkages to go the throttle and have a return spring to bring it back to idle(without shutting it off). Case use a foot throttle but most other machines will have a decelerator pedal for changing directions. What ever happened with your transmission? Did you get it fixed or was it a simple problem?

I'm in the process of changing all the disc, and rings, in the transmission now.

The only thing I'm not sure about, is how to make 2 cables to work on the govenor. I can make something work, but I don't want something mickymouse looking.

I have put decelerator pedals on various machines over the years, have not done a 931 but have 951's,955's,Komatsus etc,the princable would be the same,a spring has to be installed on the ome throttle, whether it be push or pull, then I used a cable and an auto brake or clutch pedal to operate it,the engine is held on high idle by the ome hand throttle through the spring, press the decelerator pedal and the cable will pull the throttle arm back to low idle, the spring allows it to do this, lift you foot and the spring pulls/pushes it back to full again, you would need a stop at the low idle point so the engine would not be shut off, when the decelerator was pressed, you could use a stop under the pedal that can be flicked to one side when the engine needs to be shut off.

Thanks AJ
That makes a lot of since, I have access to a couple different brake pedals, maybe even a clucth pedal. The last cat that I ran with a decelerator was a 977H, it was a good old machine. I'm going to try and get this throttle fixed.

I"m in the UK,nearly all cars and vans here are manual shift which made it easy to go to the junkers and get the bits, the main thing with mounting the pedal is to mount it where it will not encourage the driver to rest his foot on the steering/brake pedal,as I said I have not done a 931 and there is none about my area that I know of to have a look at.
Good luck
AJ
